HERA

She, who is born of Rhea and Cronus,
She, whose name translates to "The Great Lady",
She, who gave birth to the Milky Way,
She, who is the goddess of women and of love,
Of marriage, and of birth;
She, who is the queen of all gods,
She, who's abode is Mount Olympus,
She, who is married to the thunderous Zeus,
She, who has never set her character loose,
She, who's loyalty is immortal,
She, who is beyond beautiful,
She, who is enraged inside,
Due to the tears that she has to hide,
She, who is, Hera ..
She, who is, Hera ...
You ask me, why does she cry?
Well I'll try and tell you why...
Long ago, in a bower, where she seldom strolled,
A cuckoo's gaze caught her hold,
The poor little birdie, so frail and tattered,
Seeing it, Hera's heart had shattered..
She held it close to her bosom,
Trying to heal it with her heat,
But the injured cuckoo became Zeus in no time,
And Hera's innocence, he tried to eat..
Hera warded him off with all her might,
Till the time of her wedding night..
Then the Greeks say, a great love story unfurled,
But when it grew a three hundred year old,
Winds of change blew in Zeus' mind,
And he lost all interest in his wife..
He ran after the more young and fragile,
And got bored in quite a while,
His lust never stood satisfied..
His lust never stood satisfied...
Hera, the great goddess, of marriage and of love,
Whose life had been a treasure trove,
Was losing the love of her life.
Look at the irony of her fate,
The goddess of marriage,
Had her own marriage at stake...
She killed all of Zeus' offspring,
But the ones that were her own,
Homer had called her callous,
But Homer had never known,
How it felt like to be Hera...
Hera, the goddess of women,
Each woman is her reflection,
Each woman is her reflection..
Hera is always held in the bad light,
But every woman will understand her plight,
She was only a jealous wife,
A wounded lover for life..
A wounded lover for life...

The Loss of Light

   Your inner self is composed of your light and your darkness, your angels and your demons; which are constantly at war, judging your actions and words, telling you what's wrong and what's right. Till the time you feed your angels, you live a balanced life of humility.     But, once you start feeding your demons, you start losing your sense of judgement. You starve for power, and to acquire it, whatever you must do, seems to you as legitimate. You lose your light, essaying efforts to satiate your never-ending, pig-like greed. Your angels don't die; they simply fall asleep in the darkness you've spread on your insides.

          "I wish everyone would get rich and famous;
            And do everything they ever dreamt of;
            So that they can see that it's not the answer."
                                                                              -Jim Carrey.
You crave for more and more because you are never satisfied. You believe that you'd be happy when you accumulate more wealth; but that's genuinely not the case. You were born for a reason: a path, that you were supposed to tread upon, a path that would have given you happiness and peace... but, your demons lead you astray.

   Having lost your light, you become helpless until a humble person comes to your aid. Remember, darkness can either engulf light within itself or completely dissipate due to the light. A person whose angels are awake and active, can stir up your angels to conquer your demons.

   Darkness can diminish light and vice versa; but your light and that of someone else's can only add up to light up the paths of the travellers of the dark.

   In every person, no matter how corrupt he is, a little amount of light remains; but it takes the correct frequency and wavelength to bring it back, its long lost glisten!

   Don't lose your light; it's your lone identity that sets you apart from others. In this insane world, only the mad will defeat their demons. Don't worry when someone calls you a lunatic, it's their demons who are getting blinded by your light!

             Trust your instinct;
             Trust your light...!
